Aerosol separator lets you breathe again

Filtration Group supplied LGA aerosol separators to a manufacturer of diesel injection pumps that significantly improved both operational reliability and profitability. The filter systems were installed at various machining centers to extract the oil mist generated by the high speeds of the metal milling machines. The filter system thus prevented the spread of the harmful oil mist in the work area. A protection for man and machine, because the fog inhaled stresses the respiratory tract and spreads as a thin film on the machines. The coalescer process, on which the oil separation is based, allows permanent use with considerably less maintenance. The service intervals were extended from 3 to 12 months. One work step was even completely saved: From now on it was no longer necessary to clean the machines of oil residues. A solution with which the Filtration Group provided a healthier and more productive working environment.

Metal edge filter with automatic saving function

For a well-known German valve manufacturer, the metal edge filter that Filtration Group installed in the solvent system was the optimum solution to a difficult problem. With the help of the metal edge filter, large quantities of brass chips are automatically separated from the solvent system and collected in two removable basket filters. An additional bag fine filter allows the chips to be filtered to a fineness of less than 200 µm. Thanks to the pre-filtration, the wear of the filter elements was reduced by 90 percent compared to the previous filter system, and there was no need for lengthy and expensive process interruptions. The end product, the dry chips, could also be reused immediately, which also had a very positive effect on cost development. A further advantage is the longer service life of the system thanks to the efficient separation performance of the filter system. Filtration Group's well thought-out solution had a positive effect on the company's profitability and productivity in several ways.

Effective protection against explosive dust

Resins are ground during the production of adhesives and sealants for the metal packaging industry. The waste product is sticky dust, which is highly explosive due to its chemical composition. To extract the hazardous dust at weighing and manual workstations, Filtration Group installed a pressure- and shock-resistant dust extractor in the factory hall of a German family-owned company, which suppresses explosions. When there is a danger situation, two extinguishing agent containers open automatically, and at the same time the exhaust air pipe between the dedusting unit and the fan is decoupled. Filtration Group used the HI 26 auxiliary device to gently clean the filter elements and protect the filter material. This ensures a consistently high separation efficiency of the unit over a long period of time. The residual dust content is less than 5 mg/m3. Filtration Group thus creates a safe and clean working environment

Clean solution for renewable energy generation

The 21 wind turbines in the Baltic Sea supply 50,000 households annually with green electricity. This saves the atmosphere 167,000 tons of environmentally harmful carbon dioxide, which would be produced by conventional energy generation. Filtration Group supplied a compact separation solution for the transformer station to ensure completely clean power generation. With a throughput capacity of ten cubic meters per hour, the Deoiler 2000 cleans spray and rainwater in which various process oils have accumulated. The oil is separated from the water by a coalescer process so that it can be returned to the Baltic Sea. The residual oil content exceeds the required environmental protection regulations of IMO MARPOL 107 (49) by 10 ppm (15 ppm are required and 5 ppm are achieved). This is how Filtration Group makes the world a bit cleaner.
